a comprehensive 3-year plan called REEL JOY to bring the film “Jesus” to every corner of our county. This means reaching 160 schools and touching the lives of approximately 20,000 students.

It's not just a movie; it's an demonstration of discipleship and training, empowering people with biblical knowledge to navigate their challenges with strength and faith.

Experience the transformative message of the Gospel

As it unfolds through film. Local communities resonate with Jesus as he walked into communities and made them whole. We invite you to join us in extending His message of joy to the communities of Joyabaj that are grappling with the same interconnected challenges and sufferings of poverty.

The film Jesus in the Eastern K’iche’ dialect was premiered in 2017. It was the only film to ever be made in the K’iche’ language. In partnership with “The Jesus Film,” we have added three additional films: The Jesus Film for Children, Magdalena , a womans devotional series, and My Last Day, which is a short animated graphic film.

Voices unheard in the modern world

The hidden challenges of remote indigenous life

In the vast and often overlooked expanses of remote indigenous territories, there exists a poignant narrative of survival, cultural richness, and profound challenges. Understanding the suffering embedded in the lives of geographically isolated communities is not merely an awareness of hardships but a call of the Gospel to confront the disparities that threaten their knowledge of a loving God. From limited access to healthcare and education to economic opportunity, the erosion of cultural value and moral decay create a plight among the remote indigenous populations that demand our attention and empathy.

Reel Joy is the Jesus film in action providing the first step of awareness and empathy as we seek to bridge the gaps of unseen secrets and struggles with love, hope and redemption. By understanding the intricacies of the challenges facing those whom the Gospel calls “the least of these,” we can strive for meaningful discipleship and contribute to a community that acknowledges, respects, and offers Christ-like support to even the most remote corners of our communities.

Addressing these challenges effectively requires a living Gospel approach that takes into account the active suffering and cultural context of the indigenous community.
